Lash Extensions: Classic Vs. Russian Volume, whats the difference?

When it comes to lash extensions today there are so many options to chose from. Different lengths, colors, thickness, and styles, it can be tough to decide when you have unlimited information at your fingertips.
There are two types of lash extension application methods that depend on the kind of look you are wanting to achieve. Classic, or individual lash extensions, are placed at the base of each of your strongest individual lashes one at a time. Producing a very natural simple lash line your aesthetician can play with lengths and mapping to give you different looks from cat eyes to eye popping to a natural full lash line.
What if your looking for something a bit more dramatic? Russian volume eyelash extensions are grouped together from 2D (dimensional) and up! (3D, 4D, 5D, etc.) Each of these individual groupings of lashes is then applied to the base of the strongest lashes. While classic is applied to every strong lash on your lash line, Russian volume is more strategic in that they have to be placed accordingly along the lash line to create a full even beautiful set of lashes.
For some people the Russian volume technique can be overwhelming. I always recommend starting out with a classic set especially for new clients who have never had lash extensions before. It is easy to build upon the finished result if you should find your self underwhelmed with you lash results at the end of your session. Instead of waiting for your overwhelmed look to shed before finding the style you had originally imagined if you had opted for a Russian set your first time. A good technician can often times combine these two styles,I have personally found to be quiet satisfying as far as fullness and continuity.
Always consult with you aesthetician about the "look" you are trying to achieve. The more vocal you are about the end results your seeking the easier it will be to achieve in the first session. Telling your tech "surprise me" or " I don't really care just whatever you think", doesn't always work out when it comes to lashes. These are your eyes, you will see a difference in your appearance, you want to be sure you are happy sporting your new look with confidence.
Consult, Confirm, Check, & Confidence.
